Anomalies and Anomaly Inflow
My interest in anomalies started with a paper with Curt Callan that established the inflow mechanism for anomaly cancellation. This mechanism has had a wide variety of applications ranging from edge states in the Quantum Hall Effect to the formulation of domain wall fermions in lattice QCD to the derivation of anomalous couplings on D-branes. More recently I have been interested in the effects of anomalous terms arising in the AdS/CFT correspondence and their applications and also in analogous coupling that arise in the Standard Model through the gauging of WZW terms.
