AdS/QCD
The AdS/CFT correspondence of Maldacena provides a new approach to the study of strongly coupled QCD while fitting in nicely with our understanding of the large N behavior of QCD and the origins of string theory as a theory of the observed Regge behavior of the strong interactions. Sophia Domokos and I studied the effects of Chern-Simons couplings in duals of QCD in the presence of nonzero baryon number and found the first example of spatially inhomogeneous phases induces by such couplings. S. Domokos, N. Mann and I studied the old problem of the total p-p cross section using ideas of holography and discussed connections to Pomeron physics. S. Domokos, A. Royston and I worked out how to include the tensor h1/b1 mesons into the framework of AdS/QCD and discussed some of the implications of this extension.
